where it all started
A little about the girl behind the goat
Hi! I’m Camille, but most people call me Millie, the name behind Millie Goat Bags. The “goat” comes from my love of mountain life and adventure, I’m happiest when I’m climbing, hiking, skiing, or exploring outside. Ever since I was born, I’ve always been drawn to creating things with my hands, and Millie Goat Bags grew out of my passion for thrifting, sustainability, and self-expression. Every bag is made from thrifted and upcycled materials, giving old fabrics new life while keeping waste out of landfills. My favorite thing is that every piece of clothing I find already carries its own story, and when I turn it into a bag, that story continues, transformed but still alive. My goal is to make something both beautiful and meaningful, bags that tell a story, spark creativity, and inspire others to see the value in what already exists.

What are MillieGoat bags made from?
Every MillieGoat bag starts with thrifted or secondhand materials, anything from old jackets and skirts to curtains, backpacks, denim, or whatever hidden gem I come across thrifting. I wash, prep, and rework each piece by hand so the fabric can start a new life as a bag. Every material already has a story, and turning it into something new keeps that story going… read more
How do you upcycle your materials?
My process starts with the hunt: finding fabrics with character, durability, and potential. After cleaning and prepping them, I break everything down, taking apart seams, removing hardware, and cutting new pattern pieces. Then I redesign and stitch everything into a completely new shape, giving the material a second chance in a way that feels fresh, functional, and entirely unique. No two bags ever come out the same, and that’s the magic of it…read more
Why do you use thrifted and secondhand materials?
I use thrifted materials because sustainability is at the heart of what I do. There’s already so much fabric in the world, beautiful, high-quality materials that deserve another life instead of ending up as waste. Thrifting lets me create bags that are environmentally friendlier, more affordable, and way more meaningful. Plus, every piece of clothing already carries a story, which makes each bag feel personal and intentional…read more
