The Hunt
Upcycling starts long before the sewing machine, it starts with finding materials that have potential. I thrift with an eye for quality fabrics, interesting textures, and pieces that deserve a second chance.
The Transformation
Once I bring everything home, I break the items down completely:
• remove seams
• save hardware
• flatten fabric
• cut out new pattern pieces
• reconstruct it into a brand-new design
The goal isn’t to hide its past, it’s to celebrate it while giving it a fresh purpose. I try to use as much, if not all, of each thrifted item as I can.
The Magic of Imperfect Beauty
Upcycled materials come with quirks, faded denim, worn-in soft cotton, old stitching lines. These details are what make each bag feel lived-in and uniquely yours.
Upcycling isn’t just a process, it’s a mindset.
